About Dr. Jill Prolman
Psychologist in Encinitas
I am a licensed psychologist with over 35 years of experience working with adults facing emotional and relational challenges. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals navigating depression, anxiety, chronic stress, and significant life transitions.
My work is grounded in the belief that healing happens within a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a calm, respectful space where clients feel understood rather than judged, and where vulnerability is met with steadiness, clarity and care.
My Approach
Life inevitably brings periods of uncertainty, disappointment, loss, and change. Even strong, capable individuals can find themselves feeling overwhelmed or stuck. Therapy provides a place to slow down, reflect, and understand the deeper emotional patterns shaping your experience.
I do not believe in rigid formulas. Instead, I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches — including Emotionally Focused Therapy(EFT), Internal Family Systems(IFS), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) — integrating them thoughtfully depending on your needs, temperament and goals.
Some clients seek relief from acute anxiety or depression. Others want to better understand recurring relational patterns or navigate complex family dynamics. Together, we clarify your goals and move at a pace that feels both safe and productive.
“Each person is unique and deserves an individual approach to therapy.” ~Dr. Prolman
Professional Background
I have extensive experience working with adults referred by physicians and other healthcare providers for treatment of depression, anxiety disorders, and stress-related conditions. I understand the interplay between emotional health and physical well-being and collaborate thoughtfully with medical providers when appropriate. My practice serves adults in Encinitas and throughout North County San Diego, both in person and via secure telehealth.
A Personal Note
Over the years, I have developed deep respect for the courage it takes to seek therapy. Change rarely happens overnight, yet with careful attention and honest exploration, and a strong therapeutic partnership, meaningful growth is possible.
It is a privilege to accompany clients as they develop greater emotional clarity, resilience, and more fulfilling relationships.
